Synopsis

Gérard Depardieu joins Okayama by Shinkansen (the Japanese high-speed train). There he visits the workshop of a famous katana blacksmith, the traditional swords of the samurai, true works of art with often divine connotations.

In Bizen, a city renowned worldwide for its pottery, he meets one of the major figures of this art craft: Izuru Yamamoto, elevated to the rank of "living treasure", who shares with him his expertise, his inspirations and invites him to get his hands dirty.
