Synopsis

Stretching for more than 1,500 km, the Blue Nile originates from Lake Tana, an inland sea and the third largest lake in Africa. Pelicans and hippos live here in perfect harmony, as do most other animal species.

Further down, the Tiss Issat waterfalls, also known as "smoking waters", give rhythm to the life of the villagers.

Rose growers, guides and veterinarians protecting Ethiopian donkeys all benefit from the resources of the Blue Nile.
