Synopsis

Since the early 60s, the acceleration of decolonization movements and the fight against communism in Africa became fundamental issues for Western countries, including France and Portugal.

Following Algeria's independence, former far-right members of the French army were welcomed with open arms by the dictatorship of Salazar in Portugal, which had ruled the country with an iron fist for over 40 years.

These soldiers formed an agency called Aginter Press, which collaborated closely with the political police. Aginter Press advertised itself as a communications agency relaying anti-communist propaganda in Africa.
