Culiacan, in northwestern Mexico, is the stronghold of the Sinaloa cartel and the center of clandestine fentanyl laboratories.

It's here that the "cocineros", or cooks in narco parlance, manufacture M30 pills, a mixture of fentanyl and heroin.
