Synopsis

Imagine a place on earth where coral reefs thrive; where 75% of known organisms dwell; where sharks and giant sea turtles are born peacefully; where species that were believed to be extinct make a comeback; and where all of that is protected by an animist population whose thousand-year-old values and commitment allow for a harmonious cohabitation with nature.

There is such a place on earth, known as Mayalibit Bay, a small lagoon located on the island of Waigeo in the southwestern province of Papua, Indonesia.
