Synopsis

In March 1938, during the Spanish Civil War, Barcelona became the target of a bombing campaign orchestrated by Mussolini. For three days, the fascist air force rained terror, killing over 1,000 people.

This carnage, meant to break Republican morale, drew only weak condemnation from Western democracies.

For Mussolini, it was a show of force that strengthened his ties with Nazi Germany.
