Synopsis

In the 12th century, Abbot Suger launched the first project to build a Gothic cathedral. He dreamed of a large, spacious edifice that would, above all, let the light in.

Against all odds, the abbot would succeed. On June 11, 1144, the Saint-Denis Basilica, which would later become a cathedral, was inaugurated.
