Synopsis

In 1100, Baudouin the 1st, the Christian king of Jerusalem, started an expansionist expedition to the south.

To ensure their grip on Transjordan, the Christians built impressive fortresses, but all of them ultimately fell into the hands of their enemies.

The Crusades are certainly one of the most chaotic period in Jordan history but have left behind an exceptional and enduring archeological heritage.
