Synopsis
Although quite a young nation, Jordan is nevertheless the result of a long and rich history mixing Hebrews and Christians, Romans and Ottomans, Arabs and Europeans. But above all, it is the cradle of the Bedouins, a fiercely independent people.
These nomads are the sons of the desert and the keepers of ageless traditions. But who are they and where do they come from?
Some say they descend from the Nabateans, an ancient nomadic tribe which settled down around 400 B.C. made famous by founding the legendary Petra.
