Synopsis

The Roman civilization's most lasting accomplishment defines even today's diverse societies, and it's called urbanization.

Indeed, to rule and unify their conquests stretching from Britain to Iran, the Romans founded new cities and adopted the same urban policy throughout their empire.

Among the daughters of Rome, Volubilis, in Northern Africa, and Gerasa, in the Middle East, are both testaments to this concerted strategy.
