Synopsis
Melbourne.
Indian drivers working in the country for years can still be considered outsiders by the local white Australians. Attacks on drivers are common and have inflamed diplomatic tensions between India and Australia. Tom, a cabbie, moved to Melbourne more than 20 years ago in search of a better life. He believes that racism can sometimes cut a deep wound, but here people are generally inclusive, and this is now the place he calls home.
vs
Osaka.
Taxi drivers of Korean descent, like Nanbarra, form a small but significant community in Osaka. Their ancestry entails discrimination. Hence, Nanbarra has adopted a Japanese name to blend in.
