Synopsis

On the isolated windswept northern islands of the Philippines, people have brilliantly adopted colonial architectural techniques to build typhoon and earthquake resistant Ivatan stone houses.

The thick roofs and walls bring peace of mind to the seafarer residents.

An old man believes in the kindness of Heaven: signs of any incoming typhoon will be revealed to him so that he can make preparations beforehand and wait the storm out in the safety of his stone dwelling.
