Synopsis

For centuries, Indian temples have graced Singapore’s landscape. For those who stopped to study the details, what they behold are fine works of art by artisans. But who are they? And how are these sculptures made?

These same questions intrigued Deva Raj, a ceramics art major, who was on the lookout for inspiration on a final year project until he came upon Master Vasudevan Loganathan who belongs to the class of artists known as Sthapathi, or temple architects.

Master Loga’s training is multi-disciplined with strong foundations in sculpture.
