Synopsis

Geoffrey Bawa’s fusion of colonial and local architectures gave birth to Tropical Modernism and was indicative of a new independent Sri Lanka. The best example is his clever use of light and space in a stable turned into a weekend home.

Following in his mentor's footsteps, his apprentice, now a successful architect in his own right, built a home that pays homage to the past but looks to the future at the same time.
