Synopsis

One would not expect to find vines under certain latitudes. Take, for example, British Columbia with its sumptuous landscapes made of islands, vast wilderness, and crystalline lakes. In some localities, microclimates are favorable to the development of wine.

The production is recent and concentrated on a few regions, such as Vancouver Island, which is gaining recognition for the quality of its wines, or the Okanagan Valley, a majestic site where vines cling to steep slopes surrounding the lakes and produce the famous Ice Wine.
