Synopsis

Nothing connects wine to Thai culture; however, habits change. The first estates appeared 30 years ago and were considered an expensive pastime for wealthy personalities. But, through passion and hard work, these pioneers are beginning to reap the fruit of their commitment.

South of Bangkok, in the Chao Phraya delta, we discover floating vineyards which grapes are picked perched on elephants. To the north, in Chang Raï, a domain makes wine with medicinal properties. East of Bangkok, large estates have developed a very promising terroir.

International critics are keeping a watchful eye on these new wines.
