Synopsis

It's midnight, and the lights of the Tokyo eatery Midnight Diner flicker on. As most of the city falls asleep, clients come in for good food and conversation. The menu lists only pork, rice, and soup, but on request, the chef will make almost anything, trusting he has the ingredients.

Despite his stern appearance, the eccentric chef is a friendly listener who draws out interesting stories from his varied patrons.

At this late hour, his customers come from all walks of life: office workers, washed-up singers, failed actors, strippers, and gangsters.
