Synopsis

20 years ago, Patrick Bernard was lucky enough to share with the Zeliangrong tribes the experience of a clandestine expedition to the heart of the forbidden territories of north-east India. The power of the Heraka culture, as taught by the queen of the Zeliangrong, Rani Gandilu made a great impression on him.

She understood that by reforming the Naga animist culture practised by these fearless head-hunters, the Zemi tribes would be able to avoid the destruction of their cultural identity and their dignity in the face of outside influences.

The film shows the rich heritage of traditions of the Zemi people, the rituals dances and songs during wedding and festivals.
