Synopsis

Guadeloupe consists of 2 islands, Basse-Terre and Grande-Terre, separated by a very narrow isthmus called “Rivière Salée”.

To the north, Basse-Terre shows numerous escarpments and coastal cliffs while the south is home to the Soufrière volcano culminating at almost 1,500 m. Grande-Terre, formed of limestone layers is practically flat.

Sandwiched between emerald and azure, the tropical Atlantic and the Caribbean Sea, Guadeloupe is an archipelago of islands and dozens of deserted islets.
