Synopsis

The Arabian oryx, an elegant antelope with a white and black coat, had been inhabiting the vast desert areas of the Arabian Peninsula for millennia until 1982, when the last wild representative of this species, incredibly adapted to the harsh existence in the desert, was killed by hunters in Oman.

Even before this tragedy, faced with the anticipated danger, men had mobilized to save the oryx from the implacable extinction that threatened it.

And the miracle happened! Thanks to captive breeding programs around the world and reintroductions, the oryx once again roamed the sand dunes of the Orient.
