Synopsis

Space debris is the most eminent danger that men will have to confront in space. It is a significant threat for astronauts, but it can also cause havoc in our lives, because the millions of fragments flying at tens of thousands of km/h above our heads threaten the satellites needed for our daily life. Without satellites, no more Internet or phone, even ATM cash withdrawals won’t be possible.

Nowadays, we depend on space as much as on electricity. Where does space junk come from? How big are the pieces? Are we capable of managing this problem?
