Synopsis
In France, 10 million tons of food are being squandered each year. To fight this unspeakable waste, regulations have been adopted. Since 2017, the law has prohibited supermarkets from throwing away unsold food and requires them to give it away or recycle it. Thus, obsolete products become a new business.
Stores must manage their past-due sell-by-date products, and companies have positioned themselves in this new food-recycling business.
What are the limitations of this promising market?
