Synopsis

Sicily is a beautiful island with its mountains and villages perched above a translucent sea.

But this landscape results from an active geology and Sicily is one of the most monitored territories in the world. The Etna, the highest volcano in Europe is very much active and could trigger a tsunami. A volcanic rocks landslide caused a small tidal wave in 2002.

Is Sicily prepared to handle these natural risks?
