Synopsis

Although the name Thyssen is legendary, there is much more to it than just heavy industry, exquisite art and immeasurable wealth.

It is the story of one of the most influential German families, as seen in the context of history, and of the legacy of the 3 main protagonists. First, there is the founder August Thyssen, the steel baron, Fritz Thyssen and his questionable involvement with the Third Reich and, lastly, Hans-Heinrich Thyssen-Bornemisza, an important patron of the arts in the second half of the 20th century.
