Synopsis

How do people live on the roof of the world? The Gurung is one of the few Nepalese ethnic groups to live in self-sufficiency in the high hills of central Nepal.

With the help of a young Nepalese guide, Sophie takes a long walk in the foothills of the Annapurna before reaching the village of Ghandruk, a "balcony" facing the most legendary peak. There, she learns about the agricultural traditions of Gurung women and discovers a people whose peaceful appearance hides the fiercest warriors in the world.

But the Annapurna has also more peaceful treasures to offer like its rich flora that a herbalist doctor knows how to use.
