Synopsis

Kathina is a Buddhist ceremony that the faithful celebrate with fervor.

Indeed, under the Khmer Rouge regime, Cambodians were forced to forget their foundations. Since peace has returned, they are eager to revive their religion and thousand-year-old culture, like the art of puppets telling the remarkable story of the Khmer people.

In the heart of Angkor, Sophie meanders through the magnificent 12th-century temples, more or less buried in the jungle, and feels the close connection that the Khmers keep with their ancestors.
