Synopsis

The horizon seems infinite on the last great plain of Europe, in the east of Hungary. This immense grassy desert is a land of serenity and freedom for both man and animals. A unique landscape roamed by horsemen and shepherds still following a traditional way of life.

In the Máta stud farm, Sophie discovers a powerful and elegant breed of horses, the Nonius. Inherited from the Napoleonic wars of the 19th century, the Nonius is the pride of the inhabitants of the Puszta, in particular the Csikos, horse keepers who have been perpetuating their breeding for centuries.

These vast expanses are also the hunting ground for falconers and their birds of prey.
