Synopsis

SECRETS OF HISTORY goes to places close to Claude Monet's heart: his house in Giverny, Etretat's cliffs, and Venice's canals.

Monet often tore his works to pieces, renouncing painting for days when he found himself incapable of translating the present moment and its light as accurately as possible.

Friendship was sacred to him, as evidenced by the one he shared until his death with Clémenceau. The latter convinced him to have cataract surgery to tackle his greatest challenge: "Les Nymphéas", which would influence modern art in the e 20th century.
