Synopsis

Ludwig II of Bavaria (1845-1886) was the patron of composer Richard Wagner. At the musician's request, Ludwig II had a theatre built in Bayreuth, the Festspielhaus, where a festival has been held since 1874.

For the young king, architecture was the way to bring his most secret dreams to life. A great admirer of Versailles and Louis XIV, Louis II left behind many magnificent castles scattered throughout Bavaria, such as Neuschwanstein, Linderhof and the magnificent Herrenchiemsee.
