Synopsis
Polish princess Marie Leczinska is an educated, multilingual, but impoverished young girl, the second child of the deposed king of Poland, Stanislaus, when she marries Louis XV, the most attractive sovereign France had ever known.
During her reign, which lasted 43 years, the longest of a monarch in France, Marie Leczinska had to endure her husband's many infidelities with his favorites, Madame de Pompadour and then Madame du Barry.
To forget these humiliations, she took refuge in piety, play, music, and, above all, love of food.
