Synopsis

Madame de Pompadour (1721-1764) is the most famous courtesan in the history of France.

This is the story of a Parisian bourgeois woman who became a marquise through utter determination and reigned alongside Louis XV for nearly 20 years.

She used her smarts to promote the ideas of the Enlightenment by protecting the Encyclopedia, which would become the major work of the 18th century.
