NEW CALEDONIA - A PEBBLE LIKE NO OTHER
Exploring with wide open eyes
An episode from the series LANDS OF THE EARTH
New Caledonia has an impressive variety of landscapes, a nature that some men respect like a goddess, while others preserve and protect it and others still cultivate or exploit.
Within these wild lands lives a multi-ethnic and divided society. Kanaks (first occupants of the island), Caldoches (descendants of Europeans), mixed-race, Polynesians and Asians all stay apart for everything separates them: history, culture, traditions, way of life.
This film sets out to meet these different communities in order to grasp the essence of Caledonian society.
