Synopsis

New Caledonia has an impressive variety of landscapes, a nature that some men respect like a goddess, while others preserve and protect it, and others still cultivate or exploit it.

Within these wild lands lives a multi-ethnic and divided society. Kanaks (first island occupants), Caldoches (descendants of Europeans), mixed-race Polynesians, and Asians all stay apart for everything that separates them: history, culture, traditions, and way of life.

This film sets out to meet these different communities to grasp Caledonian society's essence.
