Synopsis

In the southwest of Japan, the Aso-Kuju National Park, created in 1934 and one of the oldest in the country, symbolizes for the Japanese the "land of fire".

Third largest caldera in the world, this sanctuary of 720 square kilometers offers spectacular landscapes with its formidable volcano Nakadaké, forests of giant trees, green meadows, and hot springs which beget the onsen, the thermal baths considered institutions in the country.
