Synopsis

New Mexico is a land of stark contrasts, from the eternal snows of Mount Wheeler to the vast expanses of barren dunes of the White Sands (the only white sand desert in the world), but also breathtaking canyons dotted with ghost towns and abandoned gold mines.

It is a recent state that only became American in 1912, sharing a border with Mexico whose identity blends Amerindian, Hispanic, and American cultures.
