Synopsis

On 14 May 1948, in a room of the Tel Aviv Museum of Fine Arts, David Ben Gurion is about to take the floor to declare the birth of a new state: Israel.

This ceremony was organised in a hurry because the situation did not allow to wait for the end of the British mandate. Moreover, the name for the country had been chosen that very morning by the National Council.

For Ben Gourion, this proclamation was the culmination of a tireless struggle that saw the founding father of Israel evolve from a socialist activist to a warrior nationalist.
