Every summer, British Columbia is plagued by forest fires. This region, with its many forests, is particularly at risk.

Although the fires there are less publicized than those in California, they are no less powerful and dangerous, as witnessed by the Lytton Creek Fire and the destruction of the village whose name it bears.
