Synopsis

Marguerite d'Angoulême, born April 11, 1492, embodied the Renaissance.

As the sister of King François I, she turned her time upside down with her personal, political, religious, and literary positions. A court poet, her secretary, described her as having a "feminine body, man's heart, and angel's head".

She promoted French as the country's official language and was one of the first feminists in literary history. Her primary work, "L'Heptaméron", although written more than 450 years ago, remains modern.
