UNTOLD STORIES: 7 CANOES

The accounts of the elders

Synopsis

New Zealand's original Polynesian inhabitants descend from voyagers who left their traditional homeland, Hawaiki, around 800 years ago and traveled in seven canoes.

During these centuries, there have been many battles and upheavals, and many tales have been lost. Fortunately, some elders remain and can recall and retell them before they are gone.

For memory's sake, this film captures these special ancient stories, songs, and chants.
