Synopsis

Xavier Guiraud de Saint-Eymart is a historian. In Béarn, he is scouting out the region's most impressive fortresses.

For several years, David Liagre has been restoring his 18th-century château, which has inspired him to help other privately owned châteaux in the region.

The town of Pau, facing the Pyrenees, was a major resort in the early 20th century. Guide Caroline Barrow takes us on a tour of some extraordinary houses built during this period.
