Catherine Leroy is one of the very few female photographers to have covered the Vietnam War between 1966 and 1968. At 21, with no experience, she left everything behind to get as close as possible to the fighting.

Her photos, marked by striking intimacy, tell the story of war through the eyes of a fearless young woman who, alone among soldiers her own age, captured the reality of combat with power and humanity.
