Synopsis

A virtuoso painter, draftsman, and engraver, Albrecht Dürer established himself as one of the great masters of the German Renaissance.

Inspired by his travels throughout Europe and by the Italian Renaissance, he developed an art characterized by great precision, combining close observation of nature, a fascination with perspective, and powerful symbolism.

His self-portraits and celebrated engravings, notably those depicting the Apocalypse, introduced a new vision of the artist and established Dürer as one of the most influential creators of his time.
