Synopsis

Nestled between the Mediterranean and the Arabian Desert, like a bridge between the two major civilizations of Egypt and Mesopotamia, Jordan has always been at the crossroads between Africa and Eurasia. This is the way, 1300 years B.C., an Egyptian general named Moses used to guide the Hebrews out of Egypt.

In 1100, Baudouin, the Christian king of Jerusalem, started an expansionist expedition to control Transjordan. The ensuing crusades opened a chaotic page in Jordan history and left an enduring archaeological heritage.
