Synopsis

Damascus. Legend has it that it’s the most ancient capital still inhabited. The city is mentioned for the first time around 1482 B.C. on the pylons of the Temple of Anon in Karnak, and traces of human presence go back to prehistory.

While the city is currently torn by civil war, one shall not forget that Damascus has a matchless history that can still be studied through its exceptional cultural and archaeological heritage.
