Synopsis

For over 200 years, a deep cave dwelling has been home to a family in the Chinese Loess plateau.

Completely out of sight at ground level, its presence is betrayed only by the rising smoke of cooking fires. The concealed ingresses keep bandits and wolves out.

The old couple living here trusts the sustaining power of the earth and refuses to move while the younger ones are less committed because there is no way to bathe and electromagnetic reception is poor.
