Synopsis

Following the February 1917 Russian revolution, Tsar Nicolas II abdicated. This film is an exceptional account of the tragic fate of the entire imperial family up to its demise in July 1918. It is the story of a drama unfolding while History is on the march, from the February and October revolutions to the end of WWI and the bloody Russian civil war.

Why was such a powerful monarch abandoned by everyone, including his dearest cousin, King George of England? Did Lenin play a personal role in this outcome? Was murder the only solution?
