Synopsis

Frankfurt, December 1963. For the first time, 22 former SS soldiers stand accused of the worst crimes committed at the Auschwitz-Birkenau extermination camp. The trial is being conducted by their own countrymen. Politicians and the public are opposed to the proceeding.

For 2 months, it will reveal the unspeakable, forcing the German to face their wartime responsibilities. It will also give nearly 200 survivors the chance to have their voices heard as they describe their harrowing experiences.
