Synopsis

With 2,000 palaces, 900 churches, ancient remains, baroque villas, obelisks, and domes aplenty, Rome is a city where several eras overlap and intertwine. 3,000 years of history are on display.

The city remains an open-air museum, immune to modernity or industrialization, thanks to architects who have preserved its historical monuments. Despite the influx of tourists, the "Eternal City" has not revealed all its mysteries and treasures.

The Romans, who prize the dolce vita, have turned their roofs into places of relaxation and greenery, while tourists can enjoy the most beautiful panoramas from the palaces' terraces in the historic center.
