Synopsis
The life of Charlemagne, the king who, supposedly, invented school, is not well known.
In the 8th century, Charles I, known as Charlemagne, turned his small kingdom into an empire twice the size of France and invented the modern papacy.
The emperor with a flowery beard was known for his passion for women, especially his daughters, whom he refused to marry. He also loved swimming and was illiterate.
