Synopsis
Guided by an unwavering faith, Louis IX, better known as Saint Louis, participated in two crusades and founded the fortified city of Aigues-Mortes to embark with his huge army.
This deep devotion inherited from his mother led Saint Louis to buy the holy relics of Christ for which he specifically erected the Sainte-Chapelle, a jewel of Gothic architecture nestled in the heart of Paris.
Attentive to his people, he upended the kingdom's judicial institutions, thus cementing his reputation as a just king, and laid the foundations of the French nation.
