Synopsis

Devastated by the atomic bomb in 1945, Hiroshima is today a large seaside town populated by establishments with American names.

Gérard Depardieu meets one of the last survivors of the American attack, Masao Itou.

On the sacred island of Miyajima, the actor enjoys a moment of peace. Soaking into the souls of others takes on its full meaning in Hiroshima, where life has taken on a new lease of life after the chaos.
